Cracks in a gunite pool shell are more than a cosmetic issue. Unrepaired leaking cracks can lead to plumbing leaks, damage to pool decking, and significant structural problems over time. We diagnose and repair cracks of all types, many of which can be done underwater without draining the pool.

Types of Pool Cracks

Cosmetic cracks

Surface cracks in the plaster or shell finish that don't penetrate to the gunite layer. These can often be repaired underwater without draining the pool.

Structural cracks

Cracks that penetrate through the gunite shell. These require more involved repair and can cause water loss and soil erosion beneath the pool. Left unaddressed, structural cracks can lead to plumbing failures and deck movement.

Underwater Repairs

Many cosmetic and less serious structural repairs can be completed underwater. This means no draining, no downtime, and no disruption to your pool's chemical balance. We also handle new drain cover installations and light replacements underwater.

Why Cracks Happen in DFW

North Texas clay soil is highly reactive to moisture. It expands when wet and contracts when dry, putting constant pressure on pool shells and surrounding structures. This is why pool cracks are particularly common in the DFW area.
